SBM Tech Ltd., based in Ontario, Canada, is a start-up developing a modular recycling platform for large-format electric-vehicle batteries. Batteries will be received through qualified logistics channels, safely discharged and dismantled, and mechanically processed in chemistry-separated campaigns. Mechanical processing will recover black mass, copper, aluminum and other sortable fractions. Black mass will supply a hydromet pilot, which will validate recovery and purification of lithium, nickel, cobalt and manganese into product samples targeted to downstream specifications.
